As the Fellowship of the Ring struggled to escape the denizens of Moria, they had to pass over the Bridge of Khazad-dum. Chased by Goblins, Gandalf commands the rest of the Fellowship to cross the Bridge to safety. But out of the darkness stepped a monster. Streaming smoke from its nostrils and spreading its massive wings, the Balrog strode onto the narrow pass, flames roaring up to greet it! Gandalf, small and bent, stood before the massive demon and defies the monster its prize. 'You shall not pass!'
