The One Ring CD containing music inspired by The Lord of the Rings is a 1000 copy signed, numbered, Limited Edition album which has been approved by Tolkien Enterprises. The Limited Edition is ONLY available from Metrognome Studios due to the limited number of copies available.
The Composers about the Album
The Lord of the Rings. What a magnificent story. Probably the single most influential fantasy story of all time. Tolkien knew how to infuse the magic of imagination, to create a rich and emotive tale which would last for years because of its simple depth and beauty.
As musicians, we wanted to be able to express some of that wonder, and be able to re-create the world of Tolkien in sound and melodies. But in order to do so we knew it had to sound "big". For our own enjoyment it had to be mystical, magical, alive, grand and most of all frightening.
We sincerely hope it holds these qualities for those who listen, either while you are reading the great books themselves, or simply to escape to another world while relaxing in a darkened, candlelit room.
The music took 6 years to compose in spare time between the normal activites at MetroGnome Studios, and has been through many changes, taking into account the ideas and suggestions of people all over the world who listened to the early downloads available on the Internet.

We have reviewed one of the Limited Edition CDs and our overall impression is very, very good. The CD contains the musical impressions of some of the events, places and creatures described in the Lord of the Rings. The music is instrumental and some songs are accompanied by special sound effects like horses, the slibbering noices of Gollum, thunder and many other effects that create the right atmosphere. The music sounds a lot like film music and gives a good sense of the vision that the composers are trying to picture. The CD is very diverse ranging from the jolly music of the Prancing Pony to the very tense Mount Doom track to the very exciting Flight to the Ford. If you enjoy instrumental film-style music like the Braveheart soundtrack or The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack (which we both loved), then you will definitely want to try and buy this CD. Our favourite track: The Prancing Pony, this track will place you in the middle of great adventure within seconds!
